Fresh 2012

Thu Jan 19, 2012, 5:02 AM
Hi friends.
Maybe 19 days late, but I'm still feeling the freshness of a New Year. So the title of my new skin (courtesy temporary premium membership) is Fresh 2012.
Here's hoping the freshness will last throughout the year, alongwith the skin! But I think it's designed to disappear the next time I make a journal entry.

Here's wishing all of you fellow deviants a Fresh 2012.
As my first creation, I'll be making a wp with the above theme.
Bye and have a great day, everyone!

India. Probably one of the few countries who celebrate Independence Day and Republic Day separately, the difference being freedom from  British rule for the first, and the formal adoption of the written constitution for the second.
Both days are public holidays, with celebrations throughout the country and individually in houses, on the roads, in parks and grounds, with formal flag-hoisting being de riguer.
Next week is the time for Republic Day celebration (on 26 Jan), with grand march past on Rajpath, New Delhi. A great celebration of India.
So, my Indian friends, how are you going to celebrate this day this year? Do let me have your feedback. And for my non-Indian friends, be sure to surprise your Indian friends with a "Republic Day Greeting" on the 26th.

Hello dA friends.
Did you at some point in 2011 start thinking that I should have done something more during the year, and missed out? I am one of those who believe that its never too late.
Forget the year gone by, don't have regrets and start 2012 with a bang. Make it a TURNING POINT in your life. Do the thing you always wanted to : write that song (the next kolaveri di superhit), meet that friend, relative or hero you always wanted to, visit that place you always wanted to, fall in love again (with your spouse if you're married), design that awesome poster, anything and everything you always wanted to. Learn, earn, forget, and make new memories.
MAKE 2012 YOUR TURNING POINT.
Make yourself proud, make me proud and Happy.

In advance, and with love and affection, : WISH YOU A GREAT YEAR.

Well, one of my favorite wallpapers seems to be a favorite for a lot of people. Indian Rangoli crossing 1000 downloads (it took two years) - a steady favorite. Another one is following fast : can you guess which one? Hint : It's all green.

Yes, when Ganeshji - our beloved elephant-head God comes, calling, it is the season of festivals. Ten days of Ganesh festival are barely over  and we prepare for nine days of Navarathri, followed by Dassehra and then Divali - the festival of lights. We in India never tire of celebrating the festivals. which are a great combination of rituals, food and visits. Everyone is busy, and almost everyone has a great time.
Business also booms, with consumer durables accounting for 30 - 40% of their sales within these two months.
For artistes of all kinds, its a great time to hold festivals, exhibitions, sales and we have some great performances. I'll try to keep you all posted in what happens in my city, Nagpur.
We in Nagpur, incidentally, are very proud of the fact that we are in the geographical centre of India. We also have a zero milestone, from where measurements to all other places take place. Something similar to the Greenwich Mean Time being measured from Greenwich.
Anyone for a greeting card contest for this Divali?

Just realised its more than a year I wrote anything. So starting off this month, will try to write at least one entry a month. The usual doubt: does anyone read my journal entries? Will never know unless you comment.
Spent more than a year and half on dA. It's been a source of inspiration for me throughout. Where else could we find art from all over the world, neatly categorized, with more being added everyday? Where else could we find tutorials or links to tutorials which help us master our work? Where else could we find resources of every kind (or links) for every requirement? Not to mention fellow artists or watchers who are always willing to give out solicited and unsolicited  comments on our efforts? And countless forums where we can get "live" interaction with experts.
As a small way to repay everyone, I made a series of textures and backgrounds which I have made available for free to anyone who wants to use them. Will keep adding to that.
I've made a number of dA friends and watchers, who follow my work and shoot, encourage or debunk my efforts; thanks all!
I check my dA account almost everyday, alongwith my mail accounts. It's become a default habit!
So friends, anyone who reads this journal, do let me know about your experiences with dA.

Makeover Time!

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 21, 2010, 11:06 AM

Just found this generous deviant artiste who makes skins for installing on other people's pages and decided to give it a try.
Will freshen up my mind too, I hope, and give me new ideas.
Be sure to visit the page and get your own skin - for a limited period, I believe. Have a nice day!
